Finally, there is a great article talking about the ‘great’ Gary Bettman show on XM Radio. Mr. Suck tries to ‘reach’ out to all (read, like minded) fans. He says his show is great because:
“I’ve always been comfortable communicating, and this is just a reflection of that,” Bettman said. “Despite the way I sometimes get portrayed – this isn’t a woe is me – but I kind of like the fact that people get to see me in a more natural environment unfiltered. To hear my words, not see my words as they’ve been reconstructed or reinterpreted.”
The truth is he screens his calls and hasn’t had one… NOT ONE… disagreeable caller. Could you imagine any radio call-in show have only agreeable callers? HA! I don’t think so… check out this great blog post about the evil underside, yet another evil underside, of Mr. Suck.
In an age of transparency Mr Suck still thinks he can ‘hide his true self’ from the public. Yet another reason he is … and always will be Mr. Suck.

July 15/2009 Sportsnet relayed that Gary Bettman will recieve a 27% salary raise this upcoming season to bring his 2009/10 salary to an upsetting 7.1 million dollars. This money’s coming from somewhere and I feel more then a little ripped off that the conclusion I come up with is that as a paying ticket holder a percentage of my money must end up in his pocket so I’m paying to watch a game that I love be raped by a man whose decisions I have no influence on because he can hide behind lawyers and “league rules”. On more then one occasion this man has made decisions with fan protest resounding in the background, decisions that favor himself and the owners that he’s the little tool in the pocket of, with little to no regard to fan opinion and no legitimate reason to why we remain ignored or what the real reasoning behind his thought/decision making process is. I have no idea what’s coming next from this guy and have come to the realization that I’m absolutely helpless to the will of a tyrant in my beloved sport. What can I do, I boycott hockey, he wins, I keep watching, the ratings go unfaulted and Bettman gets kudos for doing such a fine job retaining his fan base while making questionable moves that loyal supporters don’t approve of to attract more viewers.
